Emerging as the triumphant champion in the highly competitive App Circus Uruguay’s Pitch Competition, I proudly showcased my exceptional mobile app, GPSGAY, which was hailed as the Best app in the country in 2014.
This groundbreaking application garnered widespread acclaim, celebrated as a shining testament to innovation and replete with advanced and cutting-edge functionalities.
The esteemed jury panel consisted of Marcelo Lanfranconi from Paganza, the winner of AppCircusMontevideo 2013, Ana Pais, a renowned technology journalist from El Observador, and Leonardo Kammermann from Antel’s innovation department. Together, they meticulously assessed the competitors based on a comprehensive set of criteria, including originality, innovation, design, usability, market opportunity, business model, and scalability.
When announcing GPSGAY as the deserving victor, the jury emphasized that in addition to meeting these rigorous criteria, this remarkable app symbolizes our nation’s commitment to openness and support for the LGBT community, resonating with the values we aspire to convey to the world. As a well-deserved reward, the creators of GPSGAY will embark on an exciting journey to Spain, courtesy of the esteemed Global Services Program (Uruguay XXI – BID). There, they will proudly represent Uruguay in the esteemed Mobile Premiere Awards, a globally recognized app competition set to take place in Barcelona in March 2015.
